Hey hun! Well if you are anything like me Christmas crept up like a thief in the night. I looked up one day and all the sudden realized my once newborn was trying to walk and sprouting his first tooth. As I took his 8 month photo I shouted out “oh shit it’s December”! We’ve been dealing with a horrible cough, infant RSV, ear infections and most recently our little guy had a random hive outbreak that nearly scared me half to death. So needless to say, Christmas has not been a top priority.
After realizing we had almost fallen behind, we headed out almost immediately to snag an artificial tree and yard decorations from our local Walmart (no shame in my game). We even picked up the Black Panther inflatable for the yard which the kids got a kick out of. After decorations I immediately hit up my go to shopping spot, Amazon, to find out what was “in” for kids this year. I am not going to lie, much of what we ended up choosing had prime shipping because the kiddos are starting to get a little antsy.
I was able to get some great deals and even eyeball a few things for my Christmas list while I was at it. Don’t have time to do all the searching? Check out some of my families favorites.
Gifts For Teens
So my teen is a boy and he has completely left the realm of plastics. So filler items this year are a no go as they would just find their way into the bin of Christmas Past. Spending most his evenings gaming on Fortnite or engaging in conversations with his dad and I, he was definitely the most difficult but I think we nailed it!
Gaming Chair: This is a must have for your little gamer. 4 speakers for total immersion surround sound, vibration motors that sync to bass tones of the game and built-in radio wireless receiver. One can only hope that he will use it for reading too but something tells me that is wishful thinking.
Jordan Backpack: Christmas lands just at the right time when the school supplies from the beginning of the year either run low or start to get a little worn out. Send your kids back for the second semester with a little extra swag with this Jordan All World Backpack. I personally love the all black – simple yet stylish.
Jordan Nike 4 Retro: If I can be honest before marrying Mr. BVX and having four boys, I was not a huge Jordan fan. Didn’t understand the hype. But now I get it and I can spot a nice Jordan from a mile away. These beauties are just classic with the black and metallic gold. They also happened to coordinate with a pair my husband has. Gotta have them!
Headphones: Whether or not he is gaming, listening to music or you-tubing, these headphones are perfect for our busy house. One less electronic or person making noise is ideal for a family of seven. I love these because they are durable to withstand the wear and tear this kid is sure to give them.
Gifts For Tweens
Our tween boys were born on Christmas so it is always fun to surprise them with a big ticket item under the tree every year. This year we decided on a gaming console they have been begging for. Ms. Marley, well she is happy with anything that shines and shimmers. She is a true girly girl in a house with four brothers.
Nintendo Switch: The Nintendo switch is all the rage this year. I picked ours up from Game Stop so we could get points on our membership but it is available for the same price on Amazon. Give your kids the flexibility to play with up to four family members, game play at home or on the go. It also turns from a screen to a handheld in two simple snaps. Be sure to budget for games though. My budget was quickly broken with the purchase of just one additional game.
Adidas Running Shoe: My baby girl is a true girly girl. The more glitter the better! I thought these were fitting for my little unicorn as she enters her second semester in style!
Razor Pocket Scooter: Ms. Marley has been asking for this for a few years now but is a little too young daddy says. The older kids on the block have them and she is feeling a little left out racing her bike down the street. This is ideal for your kiddos who are 13+ but if you are okay with it your tween will love this gift!
Nerf Tactical Vest Kit: Nerf wars go down in our house on the regular. Lace your little solider up with this for the holidays and they are guaranteed to be the victor at your next battle.
Gifts For Tots
Baby boy is 8 months and will be celebrating his very first Christmas. Since he is more amused with the noises he can now make with his mouth we are keeping it simple this year. After four kids we have learned that less is actually more because most of it will 1) either never get used or 2) end up in the trash just days later. Plus he will never know the difference – HA!
Learning Lights Remote: Babies are obsessed with trying to snag the remote so why not get them their own. With bright lights and 10+ sounds the LeapFrog remote is guaranteed to keep your little ones attention off of yours.
Musical Table: Messiah loves standing up next to his bouncer for play versus being inside. This toy is perfect as he starts to stretch his legs. With play on all four sides it will encourage him to use his feet to make his way around to all the new lights and sounds.
Wu-Tang Onsies: So if you don’t already know or could not tell we are a little unconventional around these parts. My husband is a musician so we keep the music alive at every turn. Little man will be rocking Wu-Tang on Christmas – we could not have it any other way.
Jordan Retro Concord: Yeah even the baby gets laced up around here. If your husband is a sneaker head or if you are and your baby has to be the flyest thing crawling get these! They are the must haves of the season.
I hope this post helps you out just a little this holiday season. Happy gifting!
